How Do Wedding Guests Get to Skopelos?

Skopelos is a ferry island. Some couples find that surprising and others find it part of the charm. We are the Lemonis family, and we have welcomed wedding guests here since 2017, so here is how the journey works.
Is there an airport on Skopelos?
No. Guests arrive by ferry. Many come from the mainland, from Volos or from Mantoudi on Evia, and there is also a connection from Thessaloniki.
How often do the ferries run?
For most of the season there are daily crossings from Volos and from Mantoudi, and two or three a week from Thessaloniki. The Volos and Mantoudi timetables are usually known from the winter, while the Thessaloniki timetable is announced at the start of the summer.
Should the timetables worry us?
It shouldn't be something that stresses you. With daily crossings from both Volos and Mantoudi for most of the season, your guests have choices whichever day your wedding falls on. When we talk by video call, we look at your date together and think through the easiest way for your guests to get here.
What is the best route for our guests?
It depends on where your guests are coming from and what suits them best. For some, the easiest way is to fly into Skiathos and take a ferry from there, and for others it is Volos, Mantoudi or Thessaloniki. We recommend that guests arrive at least two or three days before the wedding.
If you are still choosing a date, or wondering how the journey would work for your own guests, tell us roughly when you are thinking of getting married and where your guests would be travelling from, and we will take it from there.
